The library rules may be revised by Council from time to time
Who may or may not use UCT Libraries
L1.1
Authorised library users include UCT staff, students, members of Council, others with specific university affiliation, and subscribers.
For a current list of categories of library patrons and their privileges, please see UCT Libraries’ web page at

Electronic resources may be used ONLY by current UCT staff and currently registered UCT students.

The Research Commons in the Chancellor Oppenheimer Library is for the use of UCT master’s and doctoral students and academic staff.
