we know that
sum of linear pair angle is 180.
so
x+y=180
given that y=2x
so
x+2x=180
3×=180
x=60

y=2x=2×60
y=120

Answer:

The value of y is 120^{\circ}

Solution:

When 2 lines intersect, the linear pair is formed. The sum of linear pair is 180^{\circ}.

Given 2x=y ----- (a)

We know that x+y=180 (linear pair sum) ----- (b)

Substituting value of y in (b),

x+2 x=180

3 x=180

x=\frac{180}{3}

\therefore x=60

Substituting value of x in (a),

2 \times 60=y

y=120

The value of y is 120^{\circ}
