Given: An amount of food last for 40 days for 120 men.

To find: We have to find the time it will last for 80 men.

Solution:

As the number of men decreases the amount of food also decreases.

Thus for any particular amount of food, it will last longer days.

Thus we can say that it holds an inverse relationship.

Now we can write,

For 120 men an amount of food lasts for 40 days.

Thus for 80 men, the food will last-

 \frac{120 \times 40}{80} = 60

For 80 men the food will last for 60 days.
