So here,

(2x-30)+(3x+40)=180° \\  \\ \implies2x - 30 + 3x + 40 = 180 \\  \implies3x + 2x + 40 - 30 = 180 \\  \implies5x + 10 = 180

  • transposing terms to get the value of x we get,

5x + 10 = 180 \\  \implies5x = 180 - 10 \\  \implies5x = 170 \\  \implies\:x =  \frac{170}{5}  \\   \implies\boxed{x = 34°}

  • To verify x's value, we just need to put the value of x in 1st equation, i.e –

RHS = 180°

LHS =

(2x - 30) + (3x + 40) \\  \implies2(34)-30+3(34)+40 \\  \implies68 - 30 + 102 + 40 \\  \implies210 - 30 \\  \implies180°

Hence verified, LHS = RHS
