Let the number be x,

Now,

According to the Question,

49:x = x:81,

We know that, a:b = a/b,

=> 49/x = x/81,

Cross Multiplying,

=> x*x = 49*81,

=> x² = 49*81

=> x = √(49*81)

=> x = √(7*7*9*9)

=> x = √(7²*9²)

=> x = ±7*9

=> x = ±63

=> x = Either +63 or -63,

Therefore : The answer is ±63 (It can be + or -)
