If the Numerator is increased by 5.

Let the Numerator be x.

Then; the equation is x + 5.

And the Denominator is halved.

Let the Denominator be y.

Then; the equation is \dfrac{y}{2}

Then the resulting fraction is 2.

Fraction = \dfrac{Numerator}{Denominator} = \dfrac{x}{y}

A.T.Q.

F = \dfrac{x}{y}

\dfrac{x \: + \: 5}{ \frac{y}{2} } = 2

Now cross multiply them

x + 5 = \dfrac{2\:\times\:y}{2}

x + 5 = y

\boxed{x \:-\: y \:= \:- \:5}
