Given :

  • Opposite angles of a parallelogram are = x + 5 and 2x - 30

To find :

  • the value of x and the measure of each angle

Solution :

⇒ Let's find the value of x and the measure of each angle.

Angles of a parallelogram add up to = 180°

= x + 5 and 2x - 30 = 180

= x + 5 = 180

= x = 180 - 5

= 175

= 2x - 30 = 175

= 2x = 175 - 30

= 2x = 145

= x = 145/2

= x = 72.5

  • Therefore, value of x is 72.5.

⇒ Now, let's find the measure of each angle.

= x + 5

= 72.5 + 5

= 77.5°

= 2x - 30

= 2 × 72.5 - 30

= 145 - 30

= 115°

  • Therefore, the angles are 77.5° and 115°.
