Let smaller no. be x So consecutive 3ven no. will be x+2. A/Q. x*(x+2)=72 x2+2x =72. x2+2x -72=0. x2+8x-6x-72=0. x(x+8)-6(x+8)=0. (x+8)(x-6)=0. x+8=0 or x-6=0. x=-8 or x=6 By taking +ve no. we have smaller no. is 6 and largest no. is 8. Also we can also check our answer by multiplying 6 and 8 which is equals to 72. So, largest no. is 8.
