HI !
when x = a , and y = 2a are substituted in the given linear equation , the equation becomes zero.
i.e.,
2*(a) - 3(2a) + 12 = 0
2a - 6a + 12 = 0
-4a + 12 = 0
-4a = -12
a = 12/4 = 3
value of a is 3
