In ABC, AB=10 cm, BC=9 cm and the height on the side AB is CD= 4.5cm , find the height on the side BC.​

Answer :

We know that

area of triangle =  1/2 base * Height

Step 1-   In triangle ABC  when CD is the Height on AB

Area of triangle =1/2 AB*CD   here  AB= 10 cm

                                                             CD = 4.5 c.m

1/2 * 10 * 4.5 cm

5 * 4.5 = 22.5 cm

Step 2-  In triangle ABC  when AO is the Height on BC

area of triangle = 1/2 base * Height

22.5 = 1/2 BC * AO

22.5 = 1/2 * 9 * AO

9 * AO = 22.5 * 2

AO = 45/ 9

AO =5 cm
