let passing marke is 100%
56% + 110 = 74% - 34=== passing mark
74% - 56% = 110 +34
18% = 144
then 100% = (144/18)×100
8×100 = 800

s7388: what to understand from 34b mark.

Given :

In an examination,Amit gets 56% of total marks and failed by 110,while Sumit gets 74% of the total marks and gets 34bmore than the passing mark.

To Find :

find the total marks and those necessary for passing.

Solution:

Let the total marks be x

So,,Amit gets 56% of total marks and failed by 110,

Amit gets marks = 0.56x

Passing marks = 0.56x+110

Sumit gets 74% of the total marks and gets 34bmore than the passing mark.

Sumit gets marks = 0.74x

Passing marks =0.74x-34

So,0.56x+110=0.74x-34

144=0.18x

x=\frac{144}{0.18}

x=800

Hence The total marks is 800
