Area of Δ ABC = 48 cm²

Given ---> In ||gm ABCD ,DE perpendicular to AB and AB= 12cm and DE = 8cm

To find ---> Area of ΔABC

Solution---->

Area of ||gm = Base × Height

We can take AB as base and altitude DE as height

Area of ||gm ABCD = AB × DE

Putting AB = 12 and DE = 8

= 12 × 8

Area of ||gm ABCD= 96 cm²

Now ||gm ABCD and Δ ABC are on same base AB and between same || lines AB and CD so

Area of ΔABC = 1/2 (area of ||gm ABCD)

= 1/2 ( 96 )

= 48 cm²

Additional information --->

If two parallelograms are on same base and between same parallel lines then areas of paralleograms are equal.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

DE is perpendicular to AB.

AB=12cm

DE=8cm

here,====> AB is the base

=========>DE is the height

formulae of parallelogram area=base ×height

area of parallelogram=12cm×8cm

=96cm^2

Now parallelogram ABCD and Δ ABC are on same base AB and between same || lines AB and CD

so

Area of ΔABC = 1/2 (area of ||gm ABCD)

= 1/2 ( 96 )

= 48 cm²
