Given : Area of ΔABD = 10 cm²  and Δ ACD is 12 cm²

To Find : BD : DC

if BD = 5 cm then DC

Solution:

Draw AM ⊥ BC

area of triangle = (1/2) * base * height

Area of  ΔABD = (1/2) * BD * AM  = 10

Area of  ΔACD = (1/2) * CD * AM  = 12

=> BD/CD = 10/12

=> BD/CD = 5/6

=> BD : CD = 5 :6

if BD = 5 then CD = 6 cm
