The integumentary system is composed of skin. Here sebaceous gland, sweat gland, pain and sensory receptors are present.

Explanation:

  • The skin covers the external surface of the body and it is the largest organ both by the surface area and weight.
  • Structurally, the skin consists of 2 main parts:- Epidermis and Dermis.
  • The epidermis is the outermost layer composed of stratified squamous epithelium. It consists of four principal types of cells:- keratinocytes, Melanocyte, Langerhans cells and Merkel Cells.
  • The dermis is the second deep part of the skin. It is composed of connective tissue that contains collagen and elastin fibres. Cells like fibroblasts, microphage, adipose tissue along with blood vessels, nerves, glands and hair follicles are also present.
