Explanation:

Evolution of humans happened over time. Hominids included all forms of human beings. Gradually, many characteristics of Hominids developed like they had larger brain size, their posture was upright and had bipedal locomotion and hand specialization. All this led to increased long-distance walking, human characteristics developed and led to tool making also.

Tool making was not limited to men. Even women made and use tools which helped them get food for themselves and their children.  

As techniques of tool making improved which is evident from the way animals were killed, food could be even stored for later consumption. Spear-throwers and bow-arrow kind of tools were used for hunting animals. For storing food for later use, there were tools for drying, smoking and then storing the food.

Even fur-bearing animals were trapped, to use their fur for clothing and invention of sewing needles happened. Even punch blade techniques were introduced to make small chisel tools.
