Step-by-step explanation:

side of a square plot = 25 m

area = side×side

= 25m×25m

= 625 m²

length of house = 20m

breadth of house = 15m

area= l×b

= 20m× 15m

= 300m²

therefore,area of garden = area of plot - area of house

= 625m² - 300m²

= 325m²

Cost of developing 1m² of garden = Rs 55

therefore,cost of developing 325m² of garden = ₹55×325

= ₹ 17,875

Question ::-

Mrs Kaushik has a square plot with the measurement as shown in the figure. She wants to construct a house in the middle of the plot. A garden is developed around the house. Find the total cost of developing a garden around the house at the rate of ₹ 55 per {m}^{2}

Given ::-

  • Length of house = 20m

  • Breadth of house = 15m

  • Side of garden = 25m

  • Rate per square = Rs. 55

To find ::-

  • Total cost of developing garden around the house ?

Solution ::-

Area of the plot

= side × side

= 25 m × 25 m

= 625 {m}^{2}

_________

Area of the house

= l × b

= 20 m × 15 m

= 300 {m}^{2}

_________

Area of the garden to be developed = Area of the plot – Area of the house

= 625 {m}^{2} – 300 {m}^{2}

= 325 {m}^{2}

_________

Cost of developing the garden

= ₹ 325 × 55

= ₹ 17875
