Aluminum trichloride Al Cl3 is acidic in water.
Acidity comes from the proticity of Aluminum and water molecule becoming (H3O)+ ion.
There are also many other acidic salts.
Acid salts are formed by reaction of a diprotic or triprotic (more than one hydrogen atoms in a molecule of acid) acid with a strong base. In the reaction all Hydrogen atoms are not neutralized. Some remain in the salt.
For example : Na OH + H2 CO3 ==> Na HCO3 + H2 O.
So Sodium bicarbonate is a acid salt. Calcium phosphate and Citrate salts are acid salts.
