HEYA FRIEND ,

Phloem is a living tissue (unlike xylem) .
it carries food materials particularly sucrose from SOURCE to SINK
i.e from place where prepared to where needed

It is a complex tissue like xylem and is composed of the following FOUR elements(contents) in angiosperm

1)Sieve tube elements

2)Companion cells

3)Phloem fibres[dead

4)Phloem Parenchyma

Sieve tube elements
These are long tube like structures which are arranged longitudinally.
These are thin walled structure having cellulosic cell wall
These lack NUCLEI
They are ontogenically similar to Companion cells

Companion cells
These are specialized parenchymatous cells .
These are very closely associated with SIEVE TUBES hence called companion cells
*These are present only in Angiosperms. [ In gymnosperms they have Albuminous cells]

Phloem fibres
They are sclerenchymatous fibres.
They are dead.

Phloem Parenchyma
They have dense protoplasm and prominent nucleus
They are living as are made up of parenchymatous cells.
