This phenomenon is attributed to the fact that the presence of positive and negative particles called ions in these three liquids help them to conduct current.

The greater the number of ions in a liquid the larger the amount of electricity conducted. Though pure water has very few ions, the addition of compounds like salt (as in tap water) or citric acid (as in lime water) or acetic acid (as in vinegar) makes the ions separate easily and thereby conduct electricity
