It would disrupt the biological cycle. The plants might either mutate after a really long time or they might find it impossible to balance thus cease to exist.

It is also not possible as plant needs CO2 which only can be supply by the animals. So, they would not survive. Here, animals includes microorganisms too ok remember that.
