Oxygen is a gas..because
1. It a non-metal i.e. it gains two electrons..(the element which gains electrons is non metal and which loses electrons is a metal).
2. They have Poor thermal and electrical conductors.
3.Non-metals are Non-ductile:- Non-metals cannot be drawn into thin wires i. e. they broke into pieces when stretched.
