let root x/1-x be 'y'

y+1/y = 13/6

y2 + 1 / y = 13/6

6y2 +6 = 13y

6y2 -13y+6

now u need to find the values of y

b2 - 4ac

(13)2 - 4 (6)(6)

169-144= 25

-b+- root b2- 4ac/2a (hope you understood the formula - quadratic equations)

13+-5/12

13+5/12 = 18/12 = 9/6 = 3/2

13-5/12 = 8/12 = 4/6 = 2/3

values of y are 3/2 and 2/3

now root x/1-x = y

so root x/1-x = 3/2

square on both sides

x/1-x = 9/4

4x = 9 -9x (solve this :p)

u will get

x = 9/13

now take root x/1-x = 2/3

square on both sides

x/1-x = 4/9

9x = 4-4x (solve it :p)

u will get

x = 4/13

THE VALUES OF x ARE: 9/13 and 4/13

hope u understood :)
