14. let oxidation state of Mn is x
charge on Ch3coo is -1 so total charge is 4×(-1)= -4
x + -4 = -2
x = +2
Hence oxidation state of Mn is +2
15. the correct answer is (iii)
as the whole charge of compound is 0 that is compound is neutral
Now when you put the oxidation state of all atom in (iii) it's charge is balanced
X3(YZ4)2
3(+2) ( +5 × 2(-4))×2
+6 ( +5 -8) ×2
+6 (-3)×2
+6 -6 =0 so compound iii is your answer
Hope it helps!!

ayushpat1999: if you have any doubt regarding this answer you can ask
loveshanaya: i dont get 14
loveshanaya: can u elaborate some more
ayushpat1999: okay !!
ayushpat1999: The charge on ch3coo is -1 (just take an example as ch3cook is compound which is neutral when k(potassium) left the charge is unbalanced and ch3coo charge is -1 as k charge is +1 ) now there are 4 (ch3coo) ion ,total charge is 4 × -1 and total charge of whole compound is -2 . Then solve equation x -4 =-2 you will get your answer
loveshanaya: ok thankuh...now i understood
ayushpat1999: you're welcome
