Total power consumed is,

\displaystyle\longrightarrow\sf{P=400\ W+100\ W}

\displaystyle\longrightarrow\sf{P=500\ W}

\displaystyle\longrightarrow\sf{P=0.5\ kW}

The time taken for consumption in one day,

\displaystyle\longrightarrow\sf{t=10 h}

Then the electric energy consumed in one day is,

\displaystyle\longrightarrow\sf{E=0.5\times10}

\displaystyle\longrightarrow\sf{E=5\ kWh}

Then for 10 days, the total energy consumed is,

\displaystyle\longrightarrow\sf{E'=5\ times 10\ kWh}

\displaystyle\longrightarrow\sf{E'=50\ kWh}

Cost of consuming \displaystyle\sf{1 kWh} energy,

\displaystyle\longrightarrow\sf{Rs. \ 8.00}

So the cost of consuming \displaystyle\sf{50kWh} energy,

\displaystyle\longrightarrow\sf{Rs. \ 8.00\times50}

\displaystyle\longrightarrow\sf{\underline{\underline{Rs. \ 400.00}} }
