the force required to overcome friction= coefficient of friction* mass of object* g= 0.2*10*g=2g

minimum mass of B= the force required to overcome friction of A/g= 2g/g=2
therefore the answer is 2kg

Given : Mass of A = 10 kg
Coefficient of Friction between block A and horizontal surface= 0.20

To Find : The minimum mass of B to start the motion.

Solution :

Force required to overcome the Friction =

Mass of object × Coefficient of Friction
g = 10×0.2 = 2 kg×g

Minimum mass of B = Force required to overcome friction of A/g = 2kg×g/g = 2kg

Option (A) is the required Answer.

= 2 kg
