A Literary genius

A rare intellect, he was

                               even as a boy

Not only his subjects, he aspired to

                              Sanskrit with joy

Which helped him compose

                            a melody and a song

That would touch the nation

                            with a gong

The literary horizon of his times

                             was ever lit

with a couple of moons and

                               a shining sun

Bankim, the best moon, Rabindra,

                             The bright sun

And Sarat Chandra,

                           the autumn moon.

He, who ignited the fervour

                            of brave men

Sweetest was his voice that

                          ever spoke prose

Revealed a beauty, there was

                        never before one

Flowered the literary world in

                       the centuries to come.
