To prove:

1 joule = 10⁷ erg

Solution :

As we know,

1 joule = 1 Newton 1 meter

= 1 kg × 1 m/sec² 1 m

= 1000 g × 100 cm/sec² 100 cm

 \sf \:  = 10{}^{5}  \: g \: cm/sec {}^{2}  \times 100 \\  \\   \sf \: = 10 {}^{5} \:  dyne \:  \: 10 {}^{2} cm \\  \\   \sf \: = 10 {}^{7} erg \\  \\  \therefore \: \boxed{ \sf \: 1 \:  joule = 10 {}^{7}  \: erg \: }
