motion along  x-axis :

u=u cosθ m/s

a=0 m/s^2

time=t

by the equation x=ut+1/2 at^2

then    x=u cosθ +0

t=x/u cos θ

now, motion along y-axis for projectile

u= u sin θ m/s

a= -g  m/s^2

time= t

by the equation y=ut+1/2 at^2

y=(u sinθ x/u cosθ )+ 1/2(-g)(x/u cos θ)^2

now,

y= x tanθ - ((1/2 gx^2)/u^2 cos^2θ)

so,   ==>    y is directly proportional to y^2
