cotA - tanA
= cosA /sinA - SinA / cosA
= cos²A-sin²A/sinAcosA
multiplying by 2/2
=2 cos²A-sin²A/ 2sinAcosA
we know
cos2A= cos²A-sin²A
sin2A=sinAcosA
NOW
=2cos2A/sin2A
=2cotA
