hey mate here is the answer....

AB=AC (tangent from a point are equal)..

PE=EC. ,( tangent from a point are equal)

AE=AC -EC

=8-3

=5cm( answer)..

Tangents drawn from an exterior point are equal. so AB = AC =8cm and AE =AC-EC.

EC = PE because they are tangents and they are equal.so EC=PE=3cm .AE = 8 -3 = 5cm.
