The Vindhyas mountain range in central India seperates Indo-Gangetic plains from the Deccan plateau. It extends upto a vast area of 1050 kilometres. Along with the Satpura range, It is known to the the geographical border between North India and South India. It lies on the northern side of the Narmada river basin.
