reflection about political science

Answer:
Since I’ve been the legal age to vote, I’ve never taken the initiative to show an interest in politics or broaden my knowledge on the topic until I registered for this course. In the beginning of the semester I wasn’t too ecstatic since I’ve never been intrigued by the concept of how our government operates or history. My attitude and goal entering the course was negative, I just wanted to complete the given assignments in order to transfer. However, after completing the first week’s assigned work I began to develop a curiosity for Political Science. There was more depth and facts intertwined in the subject then I ever imagined. When the third week had approached I was so engulfed into the subject I was excited to complete the assignments, and to learn more on how our country revolves and thrives off of politics. Reflecting on the beginning of the course to present, I believe I have improved drastically mentally and academically. This course has allowed me to expand my knowledge and to not be so closed minded by becoming more active and involved in society. The goals I set for myself in the beginning were to restrain from procrastinating on my assignments, live a healthy lifestyle, and build my vocabulary and critical thinking skills. Personally, I feel I accomplished the goals plus more. In order to remain on task, I set daily reminders for myself on my phone and created to- do lists on my whiteboard. By constantly reminding myself daily, allowed me to complete and reach my goals successfully each day. However, someday’s it was difficult to remain on task due to other obligations or pure laziness, but I didn’t let this defeat me. To break the bad habits I was falling into I would reward myself when I accomplished the daily tasks I assigned for myself. Even if I wasn’t able to fully complete my goals, I promised myself to continue them throughout the semester and improve more on each one. Each goal I’ve improved on greatly such as for my health. Since October, I’ve eliminated a lot of junk food from my diet and incorporated more vegetables and fruits. By eating more healthy, I’ve found myself more energized and motivated. Even though I’ve improved on my work habits, I haven’t fully overcome the devilish ways of procrastination, it successfully still haunts me. Lastly, my third goal was to build my vocabulary and critical thinking skills. In order to achieve this goal, I downloaded an app on my phone that assigns a new vocabulary word each day; which helped strengthen and expand my vocabulary. Also, to improve my critical thinking skills I practiced through the assigned responses and discussions. I refrained from giving short responses by giving thorough and detailed feedback. What I have learned in this course has allowed me to apply it to my everyday life. I’ve developed a better understanding on how our government operates and the impact we have on our country as citizens. This class has also helped me strengthen my learning skills through online and develop my comprehension and reading skills. I’m grateful I can take my knowledge from this course and apply it to my everyday life and future courses
Explanation:
The Review of Politics publishes primarily philosophical and historical studies of politics, especially those concentrating on political theory and American political thought. Thoughtful scholarly reflections on all aspects of politics - including analysis of institutions and techniques, analysis of literary reflections on politics, political interpretations of literary works, and constitutional theory and analysis - are also welcome. Some of the first essays advocating 'realism' were published in The Review, as well as articles from its opponents in international relations; both perspectives are accepted parts of the journal's coverage.
