A Report
Last Sunday, Annual Prize Distribution Function was organized in our school. In order to make this event successful, a lot of preparations were made by students and teachers. The successful students in various fields such as Sports, Education, Cultural Programs had to be honored in the function.
The Education Minister of the state had to come as the Chief Guest. It was a matter of great pride for us. Therefore the school building was decorated like a bride. The parents of the students and other respected people of the city were invited to grace the occasion. The function had to be started at 10:00 am sharp.
The Chief Guest arrived on time. Our Principal and some members of school Management welcomed him with bouquet of flowers. First of all he was served with tea and snacks at Principal office and from there he was taken to the Function Venue. The Function began with Saraswati Vandana.
Our Principal and the Chief Guest lit the lamp before the picture of Goddess Saraswati. The the students of our school presented cultural items. People enjoyed this Cultural Programme a lot with loud clapping. After that our Principal read out the Annual Report of the school. Immediately after that the Prize Distribution took place.
The Chief Guest distributed the prizes to the winners of the respective fields. Then he delivered a very motivating speech. He advised all the students to work harder in life to get sure success. He also narrated one or two incidents to inspire the students. In the end, he announced Rs 5 lac donation for opening a new Computer lab in the school. We appreciated with loud cheers. The function ended with National Anthem.

The junior college of St. Thomas recently organized a book reading competition where participants were assigned a sudden book and they had to read it within the assigned time.
The competition aimed to promote reading and culture a habit of reading books among the students. The students were enthusiastic about the competition. There were more than 50 participants. To select the winner, every participant was asked to review the book mentioned in the minute details.
Students performed excellently and it was a tough job to select the winner. But the winner was Diksha Sharma who was assigned the book named ' The Sun is Also a Star'. The runner-ups were Jayanti Das and Rohan Aggarwal.
The winners were awarded a medal and a certificate. The event was a great success and we are hoping for more thoughtful competitions.
