Given Equation is  \sqrt{23 + x \sqrt{10}}  =  \sqrt{18} +  \sqrt{5}

On Squaring both sides, we get

= > ( \sqrt{23 + x \sqrt{10} )^2 = ((3 \sqrt{2}  +  \sqrt{5} )^2

We know that (a+b)^2 = a^2+b^2+2ab.

= > (23 + x \sqrt{10} = (3 \sqrt{2})^2 + 2 * 3 \sqrt{2} *  \sqrt{5} + ( \sqrt{5})^2

= > 23+x \sqrt{10} = 6 \sqrt{10} + 23

= > x \sqrt{10} = 6 \sqrt{10}

=> x = 6.

Hope this helps!
