Matthias Jakob Schleiden was a german scientist who found that all of the plant have cells and he also suggested that the cell is the main building unit of the organisms.
Theodor Schwann's findings were similar to the Jakob's finding as well.
Oscar Hertwing suggested that the organismic process and cellular process are similar so he classified cytology as a separate branch.
