By the method of Contradiction,
let √2 + √5 be rational number such that
√2 + √5 = x where x is a rational number
=> √2 = x - √5
We know √2 is irrational but x is rational
Thus is contradictory to our assumption that √2 + √5 is rational.
Thus √2 + √5 is an irrational number.
Hence Proved
