x + y = 5 \\ x = 5 - y

Putting the value in second equation,

x - y = 3 \\ 5 - y  - y = 3 \\ 2y = 2 \\ y = 1

Putting Value of y in first equation,

x = 5 - 1 = 4

∴ x = 4

y = 1

Hope It Helps:)
