The present Judicial system of India consists of 3 types namely Supreme court, High court and Subordinate court.
Appointment of judges
Under High court appointment of judges are taken by President of India in consultation with Chief Justice of India and Governor of the state while under Subordinate court the appointment of judge is taken by the Governor in consultation with chief justice of the High court of the concerned state.
Jurisdiction
High court have the power to hear and decide cases pertaining to both civil and criminal cases which are brought to its against the decision of lower courts They have the power to hear and decide cases which are brought directly to it.This is refereed as original jurisdiction. Subordinate court deals with civil and criminal matters.
Area of jurisdiction
The High court of a state enjoys jurisdiction throughout the state while the Subordinate court are controlled by the high court and their verdict can be challenged by Supreme court.
