Function

The gas exchange that occurs when stomata are open facilitates photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process by which plants convert sunlight into usable energy. During photosynthesis, carbon dioxide is taken in from the atmosphere through the stomata and oxygen is released as a waste product. Both photosynthesis and the gas exchange that powers it are essential to the plant's survival.

The stomata opening allows for water loss. Unlike you and me, plants do not need to sweat to cool off and prefer to keep their water inside; however, because the gas exchange of photosynthesis is so vital, some water loss through stomata is necessary. This process of plant water loss is called transpiration.

Plants also take in oxygen and give carbon dioxide, all time, even while doing photosynthesis. The process of breathing in oxygen and using it break down food to energy, and then breathing out carbon dioxide is known as respiration

here is your answer ⤵️

stomata is a tiny opening pore that is used for exchange of gases in plants.

➡️ they are mostly found on the under surface of plant.

➡️the main function of stomata is to exchange gase (oxgyen)because it allows your cells to do things.

➡️ plants , breathe to , but they do with small openings called stomata.

➡️ the gas exchange that occurs when STOMATA are open facilities photosynthesis.

➡️ During photosynthesis , carbon dioxide is taken in from atmosphere through the stomata and oxgyen is released as a waste product.

➡️ air enters through the plant through stomata openings .

➡️ specialized cells called guard cells surround stomata and function to open and close stomatal openings.

➡️ stomata play an important role in process of photosynthesis and respiration .
