State three features which make the earth a unique planet
Answers
Answer:
Lots of other places have mountains and valleys, craters and volcanoes, land, ice, erosion, weather, even seasons. And the more we explore the planets and moons in our solar system (and beyond), the more we find that the geology of Earth is remarkably mundane, but for one thing:
Only Earth has liquid water on the surface. And wow do we have a lot of it.
That liquid water on the surface is the origin of all sorts of other Earth-unique features. Liquid water rain exists because we have liquid water on the surface. Our unique plate tectonics exist because of our oceans.
Take away Earth’s water, and we’re just another rock orbiting the sun. Not quite so hot as Venus, not so cold as Mars, but otherwise unremarkable.
But add a billion cubic kilometers of water or so, and Earth becomes an absolutely unique place.
