copper wire is not used as a fuse wire because a fuse wire is made of very thin wire strip of a metal which has a very low melting point hence copper does not have a lower melting point it is not used as a fuse but where as Mercury has a very low melting point and it starts melting when the overloading of the current is seen hence mercury is used as a fuse

HariRK: dude mercury is not used as fuse wire since it is liquid at room temperature so an alloy of lead and tin is only used as the fuse wire!

A copper wire cannot be used as a fuse wire because it has a high melting point. it will not melt easily when a high electric current passes through it and make them is electric appliances.
