1) many industries take up cool water from water bodies and use it for many purposes and allow warm water produced to go in this water bodies .

2) in dams, surface water is directly exposed to heat from sun ⛅ which makes it warmer than underwater. when dams are opened this water mixes and creates temperature differences

this affects growth since aquatic animals need a fixed temperature for survival since they are cold blooded, egg maturing etc.
