Sutures on the skull are fixed joints.

These joints are also referred to as fibrous joints.

Fibrous Joints have a thick layer of connecting tissue that joins two bone structures at the joint.

These joints are primarily comprised of Collagen.

As these joints are not connected by cartilage and as such offer zero flexibility.

Though apart from sutures, there are a few types of fibrous joints that offer slight movement.
