Frederic Taylor proposed the following four principles of scientific management:
1.Replacing the rule of thumb methods with scientific study of tasks
2.Selection,training and development of each worker rather than letting them train themselves.
3. Ensuring that scientific methods are being followed while performing tasks.
4.Ensuring that managers use scientific methods in planning tasks while other workers actually perform tasks.
From the point of increasing productivity I agree that the Taylors principles are applicable because when applied they have been known to increase productivity three or four times over.
However, considering the human nature of the workers these principles increase monotony of work leading to boredom.
They may also result in dehumanizing work conditions limiting the workers creativity.

Taylor's techniques of management are universally applicable as they help a lot in increasing productivity at a fast rate than previous ones.
Scientific study of tasks has resulted in replacement of thumb rule.
At the time of performing tasks it must be ensured that scientific methods are duly followed.
