Now the track resembles two circles with one centre. So

distance will be diameter of inner circle + 2 x width of track

               = 70 m + 2 x 10 m

             distance = 90 m

Now area of track = area of outer circle - area of inner circle

                             = 22 / 7 x r₁² - 22/7 x r₂²

                         = 22/7 x 45² - 22/7 x 35²

                      = 6364 - 3850

                     = 2514 sq m

Area of track is 2514 sq m
