here average age = sum of age of students/total number of students

or, 16 years = sum of age of students /32

or, sum of age of students = 16 × 32 = 512 years .....(1)

Let the teacher's age is x years .

if teacher's age is also included , the average age increases by one year.

so, new average age = 16 +1 = 17

or, 17 = (sum of age of students + teacher's age )/(32 + 1)

or, 17 = (512 + x)/33

or, 17 × 33 = 512 + x

or, x = 17 × 33 - 512 = 561 - 512 = 49 years

hence, The age of the teacher is 49 years
