The area of the photographer= 168 sq. cm

Given:

The length and breadth of a cardboard are 18 cm and 16 cm respectively.

A post card size photographer has been pasted on the cardboard in such a way that there in margin of 2 cm left around the cardboard.

To find:

The area of the photographer.

Formula used:

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

Explanation:

length of a cardboard = 18 cm.

breadth of a cardboard = 16 cm.

From the figure there is a margin of 2 cm. each side so that

length of a photographer = 18-(2×2)

                                          = 14 cm.

Similarly in breadth

breadth of a photographer = 16-(2×2)

                                             = 12 cm.

Area of photographer =14 × 12 = 168 sq. cm
