The length and breadth of a rectangular field are in the ratio 9:5. If the area of the field is 14580 square meter, find the cost of surrounding the field with a fence rate ₹3.25per meter

The length and breadth of a rectangle are in ratio = 9:5 respectively (given)

The area of the rectangular field = 14580 m sq.     (given)


To be found :-

The cost fencing the field at Rs 3.25 per m


The fencing is done on the perimeter of the rectangular field


Let

length of the rectangular field be 9x m

breadth of the rectangular field be 5x m


Area of the rectangular field = lb unit sq.

[ In which l is the length and b is the breadth of the rectangular field ]

⇒ 14580 = 9x*5x

⇒ 14580 = 45x^{2}

⇒ 14580 ÷ 45 =  x^{2}    [Transporting 45 to LHS ]

⇒ 324 =  x^{2}

\sqrt{324} = x

⇒ 18 = x


∴ Value of x is 18


Now,

length of the rectangular field be 9x m = 9*18 = 162 m

breadth of the rectangular field be 5x m = 5*18 = 90 m


Now,

Perimeter of the rectangular field = 2(l+b) units

[ In which l is the length and b is the breadth of the rectangular field ]

= 2(162 + 90) m

= 2 × 252

= 504 m


So,

If the cost of fencing 1 m = Rs 3.25

Than the cost for fencing the rectangular field will be

= 3.25 × 504

= Rs 1638


Hence,

The cost of fencing the rectangular field is Rs 1638
