Let the breadth be x metres. Then, according to question length of the field is (x+30) metres. Now.. Perimeter of a rectangle is 2(L+B) where L is length and B is breadth of the rectangle respectively. Therefore,
2(x+30+x) = 640
Implies..
2x+60+2x = 640
4x = 640 - 60
4x = 580
x = 580/4
x = 145 m
Therefore.. Breadth of the rectangular field is 145 m and the Length of the field is (145+30) m = 175 m

let the breadth is X
length is 30m more than its breadth
then length is X+30
perimeter is 640m
perimeter of a rectangle is 2(l+b)
640=2(l+b)
640/2=X+X+30
320= 2X+30
320-30=2X
290=2X
X=290÷2=145
length is X+30=145+30=175m
breadth is X=145

hope this help you
