When minute hand moves from2 to 11 it covers 3/4 of a circle
Area of circle = pi radius square
Area of 3/4 circle = 3/4× pi × radius square
= 3/4×22/7 × 14×14
= 462cm square

the correct answer is c.

Solution :

radius of the sector ( r ) = length of the

minutes hand

r = 14 cm

sector angle ( x ) = distance covered

by minutes hand from 2 to 11 on dial

x = 45 minutes × 6°

=> x = 270°

Sector area ( A ) = ( x/360) × πr²

= ( 270/360 ) × ( 22/7 ) × 14²

= 462 cm²

Therefore ,

Option ( c ) is correct.
